Whiting Forest, Midland Reviews
The canopy walk is very enjoyable. It is not long, it is not difficult - it is even wheelchair accessible - with plenty of seating if one needs to take a break or to just relax and enjoy the scenery. I went on a weekday to avoid the weekend crowds and it was perfect. The canopy is primarily in the pines, providing some protection from the sun. Fabulous for all ages! Highly recommend walking the paths in pines in addition to the canopy. Your ticket also gains you admission to the Dow Gardens, which are lovely year round.
The canopy walk is fun -- great views, especially now with the fall color. It's nice that it's stroller accessible, too. We really enjoyed the playground. It has some of the features of a more traditional playground (swings, slide), but it also has a fun water feature, lots of things to climb on, and an overall feeling of exploration.
Looks like it would be a great place for families of all types and ages. Lots of fun opportunities for children. I went there with grandparents (late 80s) with limited mobility and was very happy with the ease of accessibility throughout. Quite crowded because it is new but would definitely return if I were in the area.
Beautiful brisk day for a walk. My grandchildren are having a wonderful time at the play ground. The only part I don't like about the play ground is all the "big rock's" to many kids pushing and shoving I'm waiting for somebody fall on one. As for the canopy's we were disappointed we thought there was going to be more then just the 2 walk ways and lines to get on any rope walks was an hour wait. This is my first time to any of the Dow event's. I'll be back next summer to walk the gardens.
Incredibly innovative and handcrafted. The wooden pods were surreal and beautiful. How wonderful to walk above the forest floor. Well worth the $5 admission!
