Lory Park - Review
Lory Park is a zoo and bird sanctuary that was established in 2000 that offers close-up encounters with the animals along with big cat and owl feeding. The aim of giving people this chance of animal encounter is so that they get to have a better understanding and respect these wonderful creatures. Also, for all those people who aren’t so courageous to feed the big cats, the option of feeding cuddly bunnies is also available. There’s even a small restaurant within the park that serves snacks and other refreshments in a shaded area under the trees. While you are there, the resident honey badger and the tortoises are a must-see.

Lory Park, Midrand Reviews
If it were possible I'd rather rate Lory Park Zoo a 100 stars, I'm never one to review or comment and definitely never gives a 100% because it's frankly just impossible to be that precise. The staff at entrance friendly and helpful at shop very patient with my three year old and his pacific order of bacon only and then changing his mind, the lady at the rabbit's was so nice and softly helped him correctly and explained with care that chasing the animal's with food wouldn't get them to eat it or come to him and that the best way is to present the food but in a quiet and very slow moving manner, eventhough it might be hard to be a little patient the reward would be worth it. The place is not just a park, zoo. Nothing I expected at all, when you leave it feels like you just left home, this review sounds like a family member or family friends and believe me I would normally think the same but I truly say I have no connection to or with any person there but the amazing memories of the most beautiful day with my son. All the animal's are truly loved and cared for and respected it's the right size for toddlers where they get to see all and actually enjoy. Thank all of you at Lory Park Zoo and their little volunteers for making it a special little peace of heaven.
Great morning or afternoon out. Good for groups, families or couples! For groups, you can book the small or large lapa (R500, R1000). Animals and enclosures are well looked after, staff is friendly. Entrance fee is reasonable (R100 per adult). Great wild animals, you don't often see in a zoo.
This is an excellent place to take your family. Has a number of local and international big cats and the facility is excellently maintained. The animals also look in fairly good health. The eating area needs more cleaning support staff during high volume periods therefore only 4 stars.
Well kept and clean little zoo. Wheel chair and children friendly. Staff are kind and knowledgeable about their animals. Great experience! 👏
This place is fantastic. Animals are in really good condition and all round well cared for. If you have never been now is the time to get on down there.
