Antica Osteria Milanese, Milan Reviews - Write a Review
Horribly bland badly cooked tasteless food. Rick Steve's guide recommended this place, god knows why. We started with risotto Milanese. Our first mistake was that we didn't send it back and leave immediately. OMG it was beyond bland. Our second mistake was ordering all the food at one time. Thankfully, we ordered only one main dish, sea bass, and one contorno, grilled vegetables. The sea bass serving was tiny and acutely boring. As for the vegetables - aside from arriving room temperature - the eggplant was hard and nearly raw, ditto the zucchini. We had the good sense to send it back and get out ASAP. This was the worst meal I've ever had anywhere let alone in Italy where I've had countless reliably exquisite meals over the years. Will someone please explain how this sad little restaurant has received even one good review?
Even though our guide recommended it, the food we chose (risotto milanesa and pasta with seafood) were not really elaborated nor tasty. We were expecting more for such a traditional place!
We ended up here accidentally, but we were delighted by the quality of the food. My daughter loved her seafood pasta and the pork Milanese was excellent.
Having just flown into Milan from the U.S., we were jetlagged and just wanted a nice Milanese dinner before falling into bed. Antica Osteria Milanese was perfect: risotto, cotoletta, house wine - all delicious. The location is convenient - just one block off of Via Dante - and the prices are very reasonable.
Very fresh food and nice price
