Cimitero Monumentale, Milan Reviews

  • This place is beautiful. It closes at 6 but they'll kick you out about a half hour before closing. Some areas are like walking around a city of the dead. Plan for about 1-2 hours here. It's a welcome break from the more crowded tourist attractions because it is quiet. Sometimes, too quiet.

  • Even though it is cemetery, when you enter it you feel like in museum!!! Very interesting and beautiful place, full of emotions and very inspiring place. Every statue of this cemetery is peace of Art!!! If you have time, it is highly recommended to visit this place!!!!

  • I never thought that I would be stunned by a cemetery but this place is amazing. So many sculptures, the quantity and the quality of the tombs is beyond any description. Just make sure to have plenty of time to walk around and see everything because this place is huge.

  • It's breathtaking! Usually quantity does not mean quality, but here god! The site is huge and the tombs are as sublime and impressive. We do not know what to focus on.

  • For anybody that appreciates artistry and creation, this is a definite must. I was blown away by how many beautiful sculptures - on such a large scale - were fitted into one place, and that it can be enjoyed by anybody for free! Cimitero Monumentale di Milano is 62 acres of joy, sadness, and beauty. Each monument and tomb taking you on a journey of that person's/family's life. To fully appreciate all this cemetery has to offer, be prepared to dedicate a few hours of your time here, but you'll be glad that you did.
