Located to the east of central Milan, this park is named after the aviation pioneer Enrico Forlanini, who was born in Milan. It was built in 1970. The makers wanted to avoid giving the impression of a man-made space. They took great efforts to make sure the park looked like a natural representation of the plains of Lombardi. Thus the plants and animals found here are exactly what you'd expect from these lands. Maple, elm, cedar, poplar and oak make up the trees. It's a terrific park for running and cycling. There are various fitness stations on the trails. You'll find a bowling alley and a sports center. The small Salesina lake to the northeast is fed by both groundwater and rain, and is populated with fish and waterfowl.
