Though the church is in late Renaissance style, the face is an ornate Gothic work by Giuseppe Rusnati, noted for the panels depicting scenes from the Passion of Christ. The church is one of the largest in the city. Inside are some exceedingly rare paintings and beautiful frescoes, including the Annunciation and Assumption by Peterzano and Christ in the Garden by Ambrogio Figino. The church gets its name from the fresco of Madonna of the Passion. This is possibly the only church in the country two have to organs that are played in concert with each other.

Milan's second biggest church after the Duomo. Particularly noteworthy are the dome and the first chapel on the left, with a painting that depicts Saint Charles Borromeo fasting.
A beautiful place for spirituality and religion
Extremely beautiful church.
E ' una delle pochissime chiese intatte rimaste a milano ed e' un continuo di manifestazioni e concerti d'organo, classici o melodici.
