  • The decor is upscale, clean, and modern. The service is excellent and the wait staff speak very good English. Every dish has a little presentation speech describing it and suggestions on how to best enjoy it. The food is excellent, and the wagyu beef was exceedingly tender and flavorful. Of course the price reflects the high quality of the food, atmosphere, and service. One warning, if people order meals with differing numbers of courses, there will be some wait time for the diners who have fewer courses.

  • If you are looking for a Kobe beef dining experience you’ll never forget; look no further. It is hard to say how unique my experience at Kobe Beef Kaiseki 511 was in a short review. It all starts when you walk up to the building. The restaurant is downstairs from ground level, but is clearly marked outside the building. When you walk down and approach the door, you are greeted by a fine host. The gentleman who greeted us spoke perfect English, and although we didn’t have a reservation, the restaurant was happy to seat us in a short time, under 5 minutes. Once you arrive into the dining area, you notice how unique the restaurant is. All of the wait staff is waiting for you near the entrance and thanks you for coming in. Once you are seated, the staff presents you with a food menu and a drinks menu, and is happy to explain anything you may need help with. It is important to note that we were given English menus. Each entree choice is a multi course dinner that is hand picked by the chef, and once you decide and let the wait staff know, they bring you a mini menu that has the entire multi course meal listed by course. When each course is being brought to you, one member of the staff explains exactly what it is you are about to enjoy, down to the geographical origins of the dish and how to best eat it. Each course is explained like this, as well as how Kobe beef and all beef is graded. The presentation and service in this restaurant is impeccable. The staff is very friendly and the food is out of this world. The only thing I would be wary of, is that unlike most places, a service charge is added to you bill of about 8%. Just factor that in when deciding how much you are looking to spend for dinner that night. Overall, this is a must try if you are in the Akasaka-Mitsuke area.

  • Phenomenal food and service. Staff is very respectful, timely, and speak sufficient English for foreigners. I read about this place online and had to check it out myself. Did not make a reservation but they were able to accommodate me despite it being dinner around 8pm. They have two courses: a Japanese style course and a Western style course. Being a foreigner to Japan myself, I had to go with the traditional Japanese course. The way they incorporate different parts of the Kobe beef in each dish was very creative and they explain to you each dish as well as the best way to eat it. The Kobe beef itself was outstanding (I had mine cooked medium rare which is usually what the chef prefers.) Probably the best steak I've ever had! It has this nice buttery taste that melts in your mouth and is extremely tender. The atmosphere was nice and intimate with dividers available to shield you from the other tables. They even give you a souvenir when you leave, although I'm not sure if they normally do this to all customers or if this was a special case since I was a foreigner. Overall though, amazing restaurant and one of the best dining experiences I've had! Would highly recommend for locals and foreigners alike! Will definitely return when I come back to Japan!

  • I'm not even done with my meal yet. I'm so pleased with the service and attention to details here. Everything is perfectly done, not a chair out of place. The Majordomo is on point, his explanation of the dishes is skillful and well thought out (In English, even). Please do come enjoy a Kobe beef cut at this restaurant, in a beautiful environment with the best staff.

  • This kaiseki delivers a very nice dining experience. Each course designed to compliment the last and the next for a nice journey for my taste buds. Staff and servers are very professional and are fun to talk to. Some speak English or attempt their best. I want to visit this place again.
