It is a Roman Catholic Minor Basilica that had been established in place of the Church of The Immaculate Conception. It was the 1st basilica established in the United States. It is also the Co- Cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. It is a fine example of Beaux- art type of architecture in the whole country. Apart from the regular masses the basilica is also the host of the Basilica Block Party Weekend Music festival. The Minnesota Sinfoniais also hosted over here. The building was listed under the National Register of Historic Places is 1975. The most remarkable features of the church are the excellent design, the engineering, the stained glass panes and the influence and essence of Baroque culture in a church.

Saturday Night Live - 7:30 pm meeting (SNOMSM) is one of the best in the Twin Cities. Good idea to get there early enough to get a good seat. Construction currently makes it a bit difficult to get to so plan accordingly - it's worth it! Enjoy!
Praise God for his glory and art in the form of this Basilica to honor Mary. As close to Rome as I have been. ⚜️🕊
Went with a friend for one of their programs. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful. The church is absolutely beautiful. The only reason for four stars instead of five is because I haven't attended Sunday service there.
One of the oldest churches in Minnesota. Very historic.
Such a HUGE place. It was very fascinating to me. Everytime I passed through the high way close to this cathedral I wanted to visit this place. Finally I was able to, and loved it. Went there few more times, it is peaceful when there is no mass, can just sit there in silence. Apart from that, they have a huge organ, even larger than the one in James J Hill's house. The details in the cathedral were amazing, this was my first time I saw stained glass work so close. Good visit.
