Minneapolis Convention Center - Review

This is a very large convention center in Downtown Minneapolis. It is just a block away from the Nicollet hall and is near the Orchestra Hall. The domed rood design has a unique touch to it that makes the shape very different from domed roofs of other buildings. The place is so big that it can host many events simultaneously inside. It is also the largest indoor convention center in the Upper Mid West.

Minneapolis Convention Center, Minneapolis Reviews

  • Large and clean Convention Center. Lots of rooms available for any convention large or small. Staff is very friendly and efficient. Real good pricing for small meetings or smaller conventions. This place can handle many at a time. Catering staff is delightful. On-site coffee shop and craft beer bar also are nice touches.

  • The Convention Center is huge! I nearly go lost a couple of times. They had an army of people to keep it clean while we were there for the National Education Association Representative Assembly, NEA-RA. The RA meets for five days with delegates from all over the country averaging 8-10,000 people. The food choices were good (to me), the women's restrooms were regularly checked and cleaned (couldn't always keep the smell to a minimum but they tried.) Overall, I was impressed.

  • Easy access to skyway which we took to and from our hotel. Great catered lunches. Easy to follow signage. We had at least 250 women at our convention and I think we could have used another women's restroom on each of the 3 levels of the center. Long lines. But we'll maintained restrooms and the right amount of meeting rooms for our purposes.

  • I love attending events at this venue. I attended a technology judged competition for Jr High and High School. There were about 1000 participants and the convention center easily accommodated this group. We were able to park outside the door in a ramp for $10, which was very convenient. Sometimes getting into downtown from the west can be difficult and this was no exception, but the venue was excellent. I look forward to the next time I can attend an event here.

  • I attended my daughter's graduation from Hennepin Technology. The parking was very accessible for the event. I used Spot Hero to reserve my parking spot which wasn't necessary because of the ample parking. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. There was plenty of security at this venue. The website for the Minneapolis Convention Center was very helpful with directions and other useful information. And finally, there was plenty of room to accommodate the event. I am very happy with my experience!
