This is a non- profit literary arts center that was established in May 21, 2001. This was a gift to the city from Linda Myers of The Loft Literary Center, Peggy Korsmo-Kennon of the Minnesota Center for Book Arts and Emilie Buchwald of Milkweed Editions. It was also an initiative to find a good place to collectively house their organizations. It is rightly considered as a main part of the cultural growth of the city.

Open Book Reviews & Ratings

  • Good drinks served by friendly staff, cozy industrial vibe good to meet friends or bring a laptop to get work done. While you're there check out awesome local art and books for sale at the other businesses in the building

  • I was visiting a friend downtown and we stopped here for a coffee. Prices and quality were fair, as was the service. A friendly atmosphere with plenty of space to get work done. A cool little hipster coffee joint good for a quick brew. Plus, it shares a space with the Minnesota Center for Book Arts which was a magical surprise. Highly recommend checking this place out!

  • Open Book is one of my favorite spots in the city, and Conexion (the cafe inside it) plays a crucial role in that. My writing group meets here once per month and I always get coffee and a breakfast sandwich or burrito. Before that, when I was taking a year-long class at The Loft, Conexion was there for me one evening per week for caffeine and snacks, dinner and good local beer. It's a hidden gem in our fair city and I hope this review is a small step toward changing that. Come, sit, eat and drink, surround yourself with books and book people. And tell Jake (my favorite barista) that Amber says hi.

  • Incredibly friendly staff they are always so nice and helpful and seem invested. The space is also awesome with things to do around the building. There is a book shop, a cute paper shop, and an art space. The drink I had was also great and there was a wide range of food from breakfasts to wine. A lot of natural light. Often there are seats available AND there is parking. Win-win-win

  • Best espresso and drip coffee I’ve had! First time visit to Conexion, great service by Brandon. Might just be my deciding factor to move to Minneapolis. Well done. 👍
