The Namekagon Barrens Wildlife Area in Burnett County consists of two units in its 6446 acres of property. Springbrook Trail and Namekagon Trail run along the southern section of the park. The park falls under the Northwest Sands Ecological Landscape and is home to the Pine and Oak barrens complimented by the Prairie flora. The Prairie fauna includes Sharp-tailed grouse, turkey, upland sandpipers, badgers, brown thrashers and wild animals like whitetail deer and bears. The St Croix River, Clemens Creek, and Beaver Creek flow within the Namekagon Barrens Wildlife Area and favours the growth of Jack Pine, Aspen, Red Pine and White Oak by the banks.
