About Cova D'en Xoroi, Minorca

One of Minorca’s most popular nightclub, and most picturesque too, the Cova d’en Xoroi is situated in a cave along cliffs overlooking the sea. Sip a cool drink ordered from the menu while enjoying a glorious sunset or party all night with your friends to the beats of music.

The caves have an interesting story behind them. The story is based on the life of a man called Xoroi. He was possibly a shipwreck survivor who found shelter in a natural cave situated in the rock face of the Cala en Porter cliff. Making the cave his home, he survived by stealing food from the surrounding farmlands. On one of these trips, he fell in love with a local girl and it is still unclear whether he abducted her or took her with him with her consent. Years later, while searching for the missing girl, the searching locals found the cave hideaway. Within the cave was the girl, Xoroi and their three children! Cornered by the locals, Xoroi and his eldest son jumped into the sea (nobody knows whether they survived). The girl and the remaining two children were taken back to the town where, it is said that there are still descendants of Xoroi living today.

Though it is not sure if the story is authentic or not, but what can be guaranteed is the enormous amount of fun and relaxation you can have at the Cova d’en Xoroi.

Cova D'en Xoroi, Minorca Reviews

  • The most unique and picturesque club in Menorca, and one of the most peculiar of all Europe. The cliff where it is located is a stunningly beautiful location and dancing in a cave 30 meters high over the sea is a one-of-a-kind experience. They played good music and I had tons of fun inside. Recommended, but be aware of the prices. It's as gorgeous as a club can get, but it's also quite expensive.

  • We stopped in while on a quick visit to Menorca this summer. This place is worth checking out for the views and caves (it is an amazing venue), but the ambiance wasn't the best. I haven't been at night, so I don't have any knowledge of what it's like then. During the day, the hostess was not very nice, but the bartenders were. However, it was more of a "stop in for 1 drink and leave" atmosphere. I'm curious to see what it's like at night now that I live on Menorca, so I plan to give it another shot once it opens back up for the season.

  • Wow! This place is amazing. You can't come to Menorca without coming here. Incredible sunset, great setting and excellent live music. 13€ to get in includes a drink. Be aware that if you take kids it's still €13 each for them. Long queue an hour before sunset so arrive earlier to get a prime spot. Worth every cent.

  • This may be good at night but is a con in the day time as an attraction for a family, children if older than 12 are classed as adults and are 10 euros each under 12 are 5 euros and to be honest this is a rip off. Just to see what is a cave with some lights in. My advice as a family don't bother, save your money. Oh something to add as was pointed out when I mentioned the cost is for your 10 euros you get a drink of your choice.

  • So we went here as some reviews said that it was one of the best places to see the sunset but it wasn't that great. BUT the bar/club is absolutely incredible!! It's awesome but we were disappointed that we should have got there earlier to see the live music (we got there at about 8:50pm to watch the sunset) also the drinks are well expensive! So my advice is to get there early and enjoy the live music then watch the sun set! 5*
