The Military Cemetery in Minsk is adjacent to the Alexander Nevsky Church. The church was built to commemorate the soldiers who died during the Russian Turkish war of 1877. You will also find several objects belonging to the troops of the regiment in the church. In the graveyard lie not just the martyrs of the various wars faced by Minsk, but also some of the most famous poets and other figures in Belarusian history. Some of them include the poets Yakub Kolas and Yanka Kupala. Not just soldiers, the cemetery has payed tribute to victims of other accidents as well. The graveyard set up a cross stone in memory of the victims of the Spitak earthquake and those killed in the Armenian genocide of 1915.
