Janka Kupala is one of the foremost writers of Belarusian language. His works have been a great influence on many poets and are still considered favourites amongst citizens. The acclaimed writer lived in a house in the Janka Kupaly Park, a structure that was converted into a museum after his death. The museum opened its dorrs for visitors on 20 th September 1945. Its overall aim is to preserve the life and works of the writer and to disclose the significance of his works to the new generation. You will see several objects, used by the writer in his lifetime, up on display here. Besides, his individual works are also kept on display. The museum often holds reading sessions for his fans and poetry enthusiasts. It also holds lectures for visitors to understand the significance of Kupaly’s works. Every year on the shortest day in summer, the museum hosts a Janka Kupala night to celebrate the writer’s poems and other writings.
