The Saint Elisabeth Convent was established in 1996 and has been actively working for the differently abled and less fortunate people in society. The convent has a boarding home in its premises for adults with special needs. It opened a rehabilitation center in 2001 in a village near Minsk. This center is affiliated with the National Clinical Psychiatric Hospital. Members of the convent actively work for the welfare of children with special needs. As of 2014, there were 30 workshops organised by the convent to look after the differently abled. A monastery has been constructed for those members who have devoted their lives for the services of the convent. A visit here is a must to see the humanitarian relief work carried out by the orthodox church in Belarus.
