Nestled within the 13 acres of Mogo State Forest, the Original Gold Rush Colony Mogo is a multi-award-winning historical site owned and operated by a local family depicting the 1850s culture. The highlight of The Original Gold Rush Colony Mogo is the 1850s Gold Rush Village that has a number of buildings with exhibits which are again collected from the South Coast Goldfields. Gold Rush Reenactment Days and many other special events are organised during weekends where New South Wales Artists demonstrate their art and craft ranging from woodcraft to mixology. You can watch the process of dry panning for gold and also try out by yourself. The 1850s Pounding Heads Crush Granite and the Mogo Maze with Stockade and Gold Rush experience are also quite interesting. Enjoy stargazing at night or birdwatching in the daytime.
