  • This being the cathedral used in the movie The Sound Of Music makes it an interesting place to visit. It is small in respect to a lot of European cathedrals but its location is in a beautiful small town with several restaurants and small shops. The apple strudel in warm cream sauce at the Braun cafe is super.

  • Beautiful catholic church in the centre of the town... The external architecture is calm and the inner carvings are indeed pretty. The colourful streak of buildings outside the church boundaries gives the whole area a very warm and jolly feel. There's a great souvenir shop too onside...a little expensive though. This church is a must visit when close by..

  • Beautiful church that brings back vivid memories of the wedding scene in The Sound of Music. The church is nestled in a cozy town square with lots of shops and restaurants. The area tends to be very busy with tourist traffic (which I only added to) so it can be a little overwhelming but it's still worth seeing.

  • First of all, their sandwich is good, must try it. I stopped here for a breakfast after my family visit the famous church in the movie of "sound of music". It is strange that even both cannot understand the language to each other, you can always have the food you want on your table. Most people here are local people, so unlike many restaurants primarily for tourists, foods here is very different, not that sophisticated, but they are good. Neighbors gather here, they like the place, I think i like this place, too.

  • A beautiful church with some of the most intricate carvings, statues and feel. The wedding scene of captain and Maria has been shot here and it brings back nostalgia. The city outside of the church has a beautiful aura as well with colourful homes, cafes, souvenir shops and a fun train taking you around the city. Must visit when in Salzburg!
