A hillside cave in Montserrat that is home to one of the most respected shrines in Spain, The Santa Cova of Montserrat is a popular tourist spot. The Black Virgin of Montserrat was hidden in the Santa Cova cave from the Moors before it was rediscovered in the cave in 880. A chapel was built at the cave sometime between 1696 and 1705 and was restored a couple of times afterwards. This cave can only be accessed by hiking or taking a funicular part way and walking the rest.
