The Convent of Agia Paraskevi is an ancient monastery at the end of Vikos Gorge. The view of the gorge from the monastery is absolutely breathtaking, and lush green hills stretched into the distance as far as the eye can see. Built in 1414 by the inhabitants of the village Vitsa, this monastery was named after Saint Paraskevi, a Christian martyr known for her miracles. Portraits of lord Michael Therianos, who funded the construction, and his family, can be seen on the walls. The church itself is small and surrounded by the monks’ living quarters, but the atmosphere is serene and peaceful, perfect for contemplation.
