Pfeiffer Beach, popularly known as the ‘purple beach’ is an exquisite location known for its eye-catching views. The beach has a surreal aura, and the scenery is magical at all times. The peculiar stone structures are unlike other beaches in the area, and make this place unique. Furthermore, this beach is usually not crowded, hence you can enjoy peacefully here. You can either walk here, or drive. The walk to the beach is through the forest and the charming pathway is surrounded by trees.

Pfeiffer Beach Reviews & Ratings
The drive to this beach is INSANE! The road is windy and up very high ! But the beach is amazing! You will not have service AT ALL while on the beach so be prepared for that! But great experience!
I knew the sand wasn’t going to be that purple, but I read a lot of reviews saying that the beach was so beautiful anyway, so I decided to go. The beach is beautiful, but nothing special. The parking fee was 12 USD!!! This is outrageous and I wouldn’t have payed that much if I had known how generic the beach was besides the purple sand. It is definitely a great place to picnic and swim, but other than that, it is nothing special.
Magnificent small beach. It's rocky as well as sandy beach with one side elevated area and coastline. Calcareous rocks eroded and developed into a small tunnel. The beach has paid parking and restrooms but no cafe on the beach.
Come early and watch the tide tables. It is busy and little parking. Take your time on the road down, go slow, be nice. It can be very windy but an excellent place for a picnic. Enjoy the pink sand. There are restrooms at the bottom near the beach. It is a short walk from the parking lot to the water.
If you have been to San Francisco and Yosemite, but haven’t been to Big Sur and Pfeiffer Beach, you should go back to discover this beautiful nature. It’s located in quite an unexpected place, so check your map carefully. Also the gas price around here is super expensive. So make sure to fill up your tank way before arriving the beach. Enjoy this amazing nature. Do not miss out!
