Informally famous as the National Lynching Memorial, the National Memorial for Peace and Justice aims to acknowledge the history of racial terrorism by honoring the United States lynching victims. Opened on April 26, 2018, the memorial has been founded by the Equal Justice Initiative and focuses on America’s history of racial inequality. Sculptures on slavery, text, and monuments related to the American lynching victims, and artworks depicting the current issues of the country takes visitors on an interesting ride through the past and present of racial terror.
