A fantastic farmers’ market selling fresh produce, a visit to Atwater Market has to be one of the best things to do in Montreal. Operational since 1933, this market is divided into two sections- the interior section is home to many butchers and the Premiere Moisson bakery and restaurant while the exterior section houses many farmers stalls which sell both local and imported produce. Open from 7 AM to 6 PM on most days, this farmers’ market is a paradise for food lovers!

  • Fresh food are always the best! The best price are during August. I usually shop for vegetables for salads and cheese at this place. I have a friend that is a butcher here too. Everything is fresh and way more cheaper than going to the grocery store. Buying fresh herbs and tomatoes here is a pure bliss. 👌

  • Go in mid morning. Bustling market for meats, fruits, cheese. A food court with awesome restaurants - I recommend buying beer from Satay Brothers. The little Vietnamese place makes vermicelli noodles and grilled meats with fish sauce. Nearby the market is a canal for paddling and kayaking and a bike trail where you can rent bicycles. All in all a great way to spend the morning.

  • Spend some time walking around and taking in the atmosphere of this place; all the beautiful colors, delicious aromas, and gorgeous presentations. Be sure to go inside as well as perusing the outdoor stalls. Then decide what you want to eat and drink and grab a spot at the picnic tables under the canopy in the market or go down near the canal and enjoy the breeze.

  • A great place to spend the morning! Go here mid morning. There is such a variety of food and other things, you will not notice the passing of time. The bagels are fabulous! This is a good way to check out a vibrant food scene. You do not need a tour. This is easy! Bring Cash!!!!

  • A nice market that has a little bit of everything when it comes to food. In addition to food they had a few other vendors, but most of them were for plants. They had coffee, smoothies, paninis, meats, fresh fruit, juices, bakeries, cheese shops, drinks, and much more. Some of the vendors sold goods to take home and cook on your own, but there were others that sold food to be consumed right away at one of the picnic tables there. There are tables and chairs at one side of the market inside as well. There are toilets and there is a water fountain.
