Cardinal Tearoom, Montreal Reviews
We really enjoyed having afternoon tea here on the weekend. The ambience was lovely - relaxed, cozy and quaint. The afternoon tea for 2 was a great deal at $20 each. We especially enjoyed the cucumber sandwich and scones (we did not like the deviled eggs, and the muffin was rather odd). This is a great place to come with your girlfriends, on a date or with your family! - 5/5 for environment, service and value - 4/5 for food
What a gem! I stumbled across this place completely by accident, and I’m so happy I did. The atmosphere and decor is amazing (I got some strong Harry Potter and Sherlock Holmes vibes) and I really enjoyed my lemonade and blueberry scone with clotted cream. My friend and I spent a leisurely hour enjoying our food and drinks and flipping through the old books we found there. I’ll definitely be back in the future, hopefully for high tea!
Great ambiance with the live piano and the vintage furniture and decor but I found the strenght of the tea they serve irregular : mine was weak while my friends' was okay. I wish they left you the tea ball so you can adjust it as you like or that they ask beforehand how strong you like it. Make sure to ask if you are picky like me. Also, the scones were a bit to sweet for my taste (there should be a minimal amount of sugar in them) and the jam was more a jelly but the clotted cream was good so it made up for it.
What a beautiful setting for this nice tea time restaurant, the scones, the mimosa eggs and cheddar muffin are the best I ever had. Plus of course an excellent tea to drink. You have to be aware of the wait line, but it is worth the wait. Also nice indoor terrasse and it's really friendly to 2 years old running around.
Cardinal is my go to place to relax in Montreal. They have fabulous tea (try the earl grey ala creme) and great food (get the scone with creme, you won't be disappointed). If they have the special cheesecake with the cranberries, order that! Ask what the specials are! Their menu changes for summer and winter. Literally everything is fabulous. The service is absolutely amazing. Everyone that works there is kind and they always have great suggestions.
