Gibeau Orange Julep Reviews & Ratings

  • While visiting Montreal, my friends and I had to make a stop by Orange Julep for the fresh orange juice. On a hot summer morning, I would have really liked ice with the juice. They don’t serve it on ice to maintain the flavours - but I’m not a fan of warm orange juice. I thought it was okay, nothing special. I also tried the poutine which was pretty good ! It was a fun experience. The store itself is a huge orange - literally!

  • A true Montreal landmark. Unfortunately, like many of our landmarks, the prices seem to have taken a bit of a drastic hike in the past couple of years. The fries are very good - the hot dogs... meh... But that sweet frothy julep is still a treat worth stopping for even now - probably nearly a half century after trying my first one.

  • A hilarious attraction with alright fast food. The food is standard stuff like hot dogs, fries, burgers, etc. but the real good stuff is the Orange Julep drink. It's a frothy, creamy mix of milk and orange juice, and it's quite delicious. If you are going to come here you have to get it. Overall it's pretty good with a unique drink and look.

  • Traditional burger restaurant in the island of Montreal. This iconic construction is a will known landmark, not only for their traditional Orange juice and food, but as well for hosting several car and motorcycle enthusiasts events during summer. Their old car meetup on Wednesdays is a classic and well worth a visit.

  • To be completely honest, I don’t understand whats the hype about this place. Yes, the huge orange attracts people to the restaurant but concerning what is offered, I was not surprised. The orange juice, which is supposed to be their specialty, is TOO sweet, it doesn’t taste like orange juice at all, I mean, Tropicana did a better job at orange juice than a restaurant who is known for their orange juice. Food is basic. A lot of parking space which is very nice. The cashiers are very nice and quick, orders come through quickly and I really appreciate that. Benches that surround the big orange are dirty, sticky and they do not make me want to sit on them, so I would suggest hiring someone to constantly clean these tables. Overall, I was disappointed.
