Observe the impeccable craftsmanship of Victor Bourgeau which reflects from every corner of the small basilica of Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral. In 2000, it was placed in the list of National Historic Site of Canada. A stucco crucifix is there in the marble embellished chapel room of the church which is designed by Philippe Hébert. Every year the sacrament of Baptism is organized in this room. The exterior of the Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral is worth praising too due to the decorative twelve apostles at the entrance and statues designed by Olindo Gratton which were sparsely installed in its premises.

  • Wonderful catholic church. It is located near the busy business district and commercial center. Inside is very serein and graceful. Not many tourists today, so I could meditate a bit and had very good time, enjoying the moment. There is boutique next to main entrance. Worth to visit.

  • I visited this Cathedral for the very first time this year and I can tell you is one of the most beautiful temples that I have never seen. I already visited a lot of buildings here in Montreal, but this one is really one to remember. This Cathedral is close to the metro station Bonaventure, orange line, and it has a very easy access to other type of transportation. It is consider a minor basilica, the third largest church in Quebec province. According to the information that I obtained from internet, work constructions started in 1875 and in 2000 this place was designated a National Historic Site of Canada. It is simply amazing! The interior is so impressive that you won’t stop taking photos and looking everywhere because of its beautiful paintings. It has a very nice great organ, a small chapel and a burial chapel. The cupola will take your breath away. If you are looking for a place to get married in with a lot of class and tradition, this is definitely the place to do it! Also, if you want to take beautiful pictures of you or your family outside the building, the main front is a great and stunning location to do it. Enjoy your visit!

  • I was so much more impressed with this basilica than the Notre Dame. It's huge and the alter is very similar to the alter in St. Peters in Rome. It's a sight to see and I recommend not missing out on venturing inside. The seating capacity of very large. The architecture is grand and what you'd expect to see in a "basilica" of this Grand style. Very uplifting atmosphere and inviting.

  • Probably one of the must amazing cathedrals I have ever seen. The beauty of the inside was breath taking. As you walked around you could feel the presence of GOD close to you. It have different areas to workshop in, tomb area, and many areas to light candle for your loved ones. Absolutely I must see if you love beauty of the church.

  • Beautiful church. We went in for mass and found a decent sized worshipping congregation surrounded by the most wonderful art and architecture. You should check Mary, Queen of the World out!
