  • Universel Dejeuners & Grillades is possibly one of the best restaurants you can go to in the downtown Montreal area for brunch. My personal favourite item on the menu is their signature "Universel Breakfast", which delivers a plethora of food and is quite generous in terms of portion size. Generally speaking, the service is fast and the management consistently does a good job at holding up high restaurant standards. In terms of cost, you should expect to pay between $15-$20 at a minimum, which I feel is justified for the value they deliver. I would not be surprised if their prices will rise over time due to the high demand, which is exemplified by the long line-ups typically seen on the week-ends. While they do an amazing job when it comes to breakfast, their dinner menu is just not up-to-par. So far I've been around 3 times at night and I feel as though my expectations are not met each time. There is just nothing special about what they deliver; I feel as though I can do the job myself. In my opinion, they should leave dinner-time alone and just focus on their strengths which involve delivering great brunches.

  • Beautiful setting on Peel. We ate outside, with the only drawback being the local bees 🐝 buzzing around the tables. But they were harmless. Wife and I both had Eggs Benedict dishes. Hers was a traditional bacon 🥓 Benedict with a Mimosa; mine was more adventurous containing Goat cheese, Salmon and capers on the ever famous Montreal Bagel with an espresso. Both dishes came with a side of nicely cooked potato 🥔 wedges. Simply heaven in every bite.

  • Very impressed. The service is friendly and extremely quick. The food was delicious (we ordered from both the breakfast menu and the lunch menu). The prices are well worth it, as the portions are huge. There is an indoor area with TVs and a bar, as well as a terrace with natural light and background music (not too loud). Both areas are clean and aesthetically pleasing. The sound naturally builds up a bit. It's not overpowering, but if crowd noise isn't your thing you might not enjoy it as much as we did. Overall, cute place, and I highly recommend it.

  • Big restaurant. We went at 10:00am on a Thursday and there was no wait. Comfy chairs big tables. Juice selections were yummy. Service was friendly. Food took a while. Large portions. Tasty. Crepe was slightly disappointing. Guess I had higher hope's being in Montreal. The savory part, eggs, sausage, potatoes of the meal was yummy. Hubby's bagel sandwich was fresh and delicious. Good value

  • Ordered the universel breakfast as seen in the picture. Amazing portion but the food could be better. Potatoes are a bit over seasoned and waffles were very tough. Have had better at the same place. Amazing ambience and decent customer service. Would recommend but it might not suit everyone.
