Kentucky Folk Art Center is a folk-art museum that stores a permanent collection of more than 1,400 pieces of self-taught art. The focus of the museum is to educate and preserve the artworks on visual folk art and also to promote Appalachian traditional music, literature, storytelling, crafts and dance. Kentucky Folk Art Center is placed in the historic Union grocery building in Morehead’s fine steel arts district. The main floor of the historic building includes a rotating installation of 115 objects from its antique collection. The second-floor hosts varieties of cultural events and conferences. It has a storage space and modern archival for the permanent collections.
