I went on this famous theater during a three week trip including Russia and Estonia. I reserved tickets two months ago and I watched a swan lake. Gorgeous interior, ballet of elegant dancers, music. Almost every audience enjoyed fashion. It was also fun to see their fashion. I had a gorgeous time at the world's high-class theater.
A dream of my life to watch one of its shows and I was blessed to attend the “Giselle Ballet “. In a very elegant theatre where its six floors balconies were covered with golden artistic paintings and a ceiling dome painted with very beautiful characters of its unique shows, someone will feel that you have travelled back to these historical times of operas and ballet shows. I was so excited to attend such event and proud of being there in one of my dream nights.
История театра в мире. Nothing to say, a beautiful building that reflect the huge importance that it is connected to its history and representation of its beautiful architecture. The square in front of it is not less beautiful and deserve surely an attentive look on it. The fountains are amazing and it is very relaxing to sit and observe the city center.
Amazing place. Great experience. Well organized, food and drinks are served in breaks. I was there on premier of Voltaire Candide by Leonard Bernstein. Very well directed this beautiful piece of writing take on new life. Make you think what really matters in this life. Colorful, life orchestra, breath taking singing. I like it very much. Find it entertaining, even when it was written almost 150 year ago. Thank you
I saw the Swan lake in this magnificent theater and it should be on the bucket list of every lover of the arts. I do not know about lesser known operas/ballet performances but the tickets for the big ones can sell out months in advance and I highly recommend buying the tickets well in advance. I strongly recommend dressing up well when in Bolshoi because the others do and they have an advisory on what not to wear when in the Bolshoi on the website. I am giving it a 4 only for the extremely high priced food and drinks during the breaks. I remember seeing some tourists leave the line after seeing the prices. Also, the toilets were smaller than what I had expected. If you have booked a ticket online, you will have to exchange the voucher for the actual ticket up to 30 minutes before the show. I got my ticket a day in advance and the box office was difficult to find at first. You need to go through the entrance at the extreme right corner of the building. I do not remember seeing a sign for the box office counter. Fortunately a gentleman in front of the big white door was courteous enough to just say the words "box office" and then pointed his finger towards the door!
