Cenote Sambula is one of the most beautiful and perhaps the only swimming Cenote in the area. The water here is crystal clear and offers opportunities for a refreshing dip. The Cenote also has an underwater cave and thereby promotes cave diving. Inside the caves, there are large concrete steps that would lead you to a huge open area and the water. There’s even a restaurant, changing rooms and shower on site. A raised little spot offers ample space to sit and admire the beauty of this little Cenote. If you are looking for a place where you can enjoy a rejuvenating respite from the hot Mexican weather, Cenote Sambulá wouldn’t disappoint you.

Cenote Sambula Reviews & Ratings

  • Beautiful cenote in a the small town of Motul. We went on a weekday morning and had the entire place to ourselves. The water is amazing and your eyes quickly adjust to darkness. Great place to cool off and a very inexpensive.

  • Small cenote, I arrived while it was very crowded, which I dont mind, but it is great for a quick stop to stretch the legs if you are in a roadtrip. Lovely local people around. It has interesting spots for selfies. And pictures for with the family.

  • This site is visited by many locals on a daily basis, which has had a notable impact on the site's water clarity

  • Small, municipally operated underground Cenote. Lovely spot frequented almost exclusively by Mexicans. Good value.

  • Great cheap cenote. Entrance fee is basically nothing and they even have lockers and a very essential place to get changed. Beautiful underground cenote to relax and cool off.
