Trevor's Tank, Mount Abu Reviews

  • One of the very quiet place. You can picnic and hike here. It contains a lake, small mountain to trek and trails to walk in jungle. When I was there, I have seen crocodiles in lake. You can spot and hear birds here. If someone warns you about jungle bear, don't neglect him/her completely. Their presence is there in the area.

  • If you go on foot like I did then it's about a 1km walk which could be a little challenging if you are not that able however there are various seats en-route. Once there, several of the viewing points of the tank and some of the reservation are accessed via steps of around a hundred to the highest point but once up there the views are beautiful, you can also access other places of the reservation from the tank with the furthest being approximately 2.5km hike away. I didn't see any crocodiles on my visit but I guess it's pot luck, there are other animals on the reservation including the huge carp in the tank and the monkeys and I'm sure that there are other much larger animals an I saw a huge poo on the steps up to one of the viewing points which was far too big for a monkey. From what the locals on Mt. Abu told me, there are Black Bears, Leopards, Rattle snakes etc. on the mountain so some of these may also reside on the reservation away from the built up area's.

  • Park was maintained good but timings are not. 9 to 5. As u cannot spot more wildlife. Animal rest at noon most time. Park time should be extended till 7 so that we can spot more wildlife.

  • The place is really worth visiting due it's wilderness and scenic beauty. Still the concerned authority should provide security to the forest by fencing and railings at height. Food stuff should be restricted inside the place.

  • There is a fairly good forested place. There is a parking park near a pond after 2-3 km, you will see the monkey here easily, and you can also see crocodiles and fish inside the pond here. There is also a large part of the forest if you have time, then you can go ahead. Entry fees are 50 for Indians and 200 for vehicle.
