A visit to the Brighton Beach Braai Area will be a unique experience for your whole family because this beach is quite different from any of the beaches that you have visited. You will find groups of dolphins frolicking in the waters, and will be able to spot whales in winter time. The adjoining nature reserve is a treat for nature lovers and photographers, with a huge variety of birds, mongoose and monkeys, among many other forms of wildlife. Don’t forget to ask about the famous surf sport ‘Cave Rock’ here. If you feel like it, you can also catch a bounty of fish at Brighton Beach Braai Area.

  • Its not bad. Worth a visit. Biggest issue is that people go there to drink and leave smashed bottles on the ground. Also, Im not sure how to say this in a PG way, except to say that there is evidence (in the form of an adult 'balloon') that people are engaging in X-rated activities, if you know what I mean. (Get a room already.) I go there quite often to fish. The people are usually friendly, but there are some homeless people that live in the bushes. I have never had a problem with them or heard of any issues, or had my vehicle broken into, but being South Africa, it's always a good idea to keep up your guard as you never know, and I only visit in the day time so I cannot tell you about the safety in the evenings. Weekend days can be very busy. Week days are not too crowded. Best time to visit is low tide because you can explore the rock pools.

  • Toilets are filthy and disgusting, definitely not recommended for a family day out, chances of catching diseases is expected. I would advise avoiding this place @ all costs. Definitely not recommended for families.

  • Always enjoyed spending a day at Brighton beach. The atmosphere on the weekends is something else. Well you will have to be there to experience it.

  • Best part to legally walk dogs is right at the end, passed the Lords and Legends pub. Dogs are not allowed on any other stretch. The closest tap is near the lifeguard post though so be prepared, there is always glass around on the tar because people that braai there always litter but it's still the best part of the beach

  • Nice place to relax and enjoy the scenery and the beach and tidal pool and public pool.
