This beautiful, large lake is South Australia’s pride. It is popular its unspoiled beauty and cobalt blue water. But, it is even more famous for a natural phenomenon that takes place annually. From April to November, the colour of the water changes from lovely blue to cold, steel gray. And again, during December to March, it boosts its vibrant blue water. The cause of this spectacle is still unknown, though many people think that it is due to the changes in water temperature. Visit this lovely lake and explore the site by taking a guided tour.

The blue colour is stunning, extraordinary and puzzling, definitely a 4 star experience. The surroundings not so much. A walk around the lake is rather a walk along a fairly busy road and you get more road/car views than lake views due to fencing, bushes and lower elevation of the foot path. Go early, go by car, make a couple of stops at the lookouts and then wave the lake good bye and move on.
A beautiful place that puts Gambier on the map. Amazing scenery, stunning walking trail, lots of hidden gems for lookouts, well versed playground, lots of car parking, easy to access from town with a car and on a nice day it is beautiful. Reccomend the walk around it, great exercise and beautiful views.
Beautiful views. Nice and secure tracks to walk around the the lake. Would certainly recommend this place if you like the nature.
As the same stated, it was blue. Really blue. The Blue Lake go hand in hand with the Pink Lake, VIC. It's a beautiful viewing spot. Surrounding is not so pretty however. Walking track arou d the wake is also a thing for those who wish to take a walk, about 3.4 km in distance. With cars there are about three spots you can view from and it's not very close to the lake but you can see the whole lake at these spots.
Bluest Lake I have ever seen! This Lake provides drinking water to the town! I was told the lake become even more blue in summer! Wow! It was only 3.4 km to walk around or drive. I combined the hike to the Mutton Lake and Valley Lake next door to make it a fantastic day hike! I would call the 12-15km hike around here my number 1 activity!! Just so beautiful!
