  • Beautiful view once and if you make it to the top of the mountain early in the morning. Make sure you stretch your legs and don't buy no noodles and eat it on the way up the mountain because you will feel sick at least that's how I felt.

  • It was very cloudy, and we cannot catch the sun rise. But it it is quite an easy climb up from the base camp (about 780m). Never wear sports shoes, as my climb buddy kept sliding and landing on his bottom. Near the peak, the climb can be a little bit hard. In July, it is cloudy, best time to visit according to local was in December. At the peak, Thailand and Laos are bordering one another! You do not need passport to cross over either side of the country (Joke).

•! One of the most beautiful and scenic places in Thailand. I went there very early morning to catch the sunrise, which is a must-do thing to do if you are visiting Chiang Rai. The way to this place is blessed with beautiful scenery and nature. When I went up it was little dark and was drizzling a bit. The path even though small and took only 20 minutes to reach the peak, was very slippery. The entire hiking path and the peak is surrounded with breath taking views and scenery. You can see the neighboring country Laos from the top. When I was hiking down I saw little Hmong children in traditional attires singing along the sides of the hiking path entertaining the tourists for money. The climate there is awesome.

  • Absolutely beautiful park at the border to Laos (access from Thailand only). The sunrises here are famous but you can also hike a little bit. Because of the smoke I don't recommend visiting in March, also because most guesthouses are closed.

  • The drive itself to this place was almost better than the hike . Do the drive all the way through (the portion between Phu Sang and phu chi fa, not just the portion from Thoeng). Beautiful drive through the mountains . It’s a touristy spot for Thai locals too so don’t get ripped off on accommodation. We opted to just stay elsewhere away from phu chi fa because it was too expensive . Hike itself was easy to get to , took 20 minutes to read the peak (only 750 m hike). Food and tourist shirts sold at the base of the hike. Little Hmong children sing and dance in different locations as you hike your way up but it was honestly pretty sad and clearly child labor as the parents watched on and did nothing and kids were miserable . Had some cloud cover on the view but still pretty!
