Phu Chi Fa Forest Park - Review
Apart from the world famous temples for which Chiang Rai is famous for, this district also offers beautiful views of scenic landscapes. Visit Phu Chi Fa and you will experience the spectacular mountain scenery setting between Thai-Laos border. You will also enjoy the views over Mekong River and deep into Laos. A small village of Chiang Tong District and the far away mountain in Laos can be seen from here. With the incredibly beautiful scenery, the cool weather and beautiful local flowers, Phu Chi Fa Forest Park is one place that you must visit during your tour to Chiang Rai. The place is extremely popular in the winter (November-February).

Phu Chi Fa Forest Park, Chiang Rai Reviews
Awesome...awesome...place! One of the most beautiful and scenic places in Thailand. I went there very early morning to catch the sunrise, which is a must-do thing to do if you are visiting Chiang Rai. The way to this place is blessed with beautiful scenery and nature. When I went up it was little dark and was drizzling a bit. The path even though small and took only 20 minutes to reach the peak, was very slippery. The entire hiking path and the peak is surrounded with breath taking views and scenery. You can see the neighboring country Laos from the top. When I was hiking down I saw little Hmong children in traditional attires singing along the sides of the hiking path entertaining the tourists for money. The climate there is awesome.
Absolutely beautiful park at the border to Laos (access from Thailand only). The sunrises here are famous but you can also hike a little bit. Because of the smoke I don't recommend visiting in March, also because most guesthouses are closed.
The drive itself to this place was almost better than the hike . Do the drive all the way through (the portion between Phu Sang and phu chi fa, not just the portion from Thoeng). Beautiful drive through the mountains . It’s a touristy spot for Thai locals too so don’t get ripped off on accommodation. We opted to just stay elsewhere away from phu chi fa because it was too expensive . Hike itself was easy to get to , took 20 minutes to read the peak (only 750 m hike). Food and tourist shirts sold at the base of the hike. Little Hmong children sing and dance in different locations as you hike your way up but it was honestly pretty sad and clearly child labor as the parents watched on and did nothing and kids were miserable . Had some cloud cover on the view but still pretty!
This is the best thing with Thailand all their forest and national parks. Do not miss the sunset in the morning. Thats why everybody come here. Make sure you only visit in the high season the peak is closed during rainy season.
This is a nice view for sun rise. Not as many international tourist as I think. Mostly just the local. Follow me in Instagram: Paoleestudio
