Cafe Mondegar - Review
Cafe Mondegar was started in 1932 as one of the first Irani restaurants by Irani Zoroastrians. The walls are adorned by Mario Miranda’s painted murals and the place has lovely Irani delicacies for you to try out. Café Mondegar along with Leopold is one of the first cafes of the country to house a jukebox. Both the opposite walls have completely different feels to it. One is being Life in Mumbai and another being the atmosphere of the city. Situated in Metro house building in Colaba Causeway, Mondegar has been one of the most famous tourist attractions of all times in the city.

Cafe Mondegar, Mumbai Reviews
Great ambience and good food. It's a good place to hang out with friends over a drink and some nice options to eat from. Prices are reasonable. Loved the art work on the walls. The staff is friendly and prompt in their services. The place can get crowded over weekends but it's fairly easy to get a table over weekdays. Infact, I personally find this place better than Leopold.
Good place with a history and to enjoy food and beverages. The place has a very vibrant feel. Staff is courteous and attentive to your needs. Food selection is good, with a variety of western and Indian items. They serve a good range of beer as well. I liked the fact that this place carries a bit of history and it was a good feeling to experience it. Location of Cafe Mondegar is really good - very close to Gateway of India and other tourist spots. We visited on a Saturday night which turned out to be a not so great decision. This place was steaming with customers and once seated, we were literally rubbing out bodies with fellow customers. It probably is a small place for the number of people they were serving. In any case, a must go place if you are in this part of the city and looking for good food and a lively atmosphere.
Nice place to hangout. But in weekends it's crowded. You might need to even wait in a queue to get in. The food quality is really nice with quite a selection of drinks. Amazing service and a very chill crowd.
The place is nice. However the food is just above totally disgusting, it's mostly tasteless. Probably we were unlucky, but I suggest to avoid chicken chow mein and boneless chicken with chips. The staff is polite but very pressing, they will literally stand right next to your table and look at you eating. Which is already a pretty annoying thing to do, add that to the fact that the food is not edible and you have the complete feeling. Much better to go to any Indian restaurant.
A great place to chill out. Enjoy the beer and snacks here. And yes the main attraction the jukebox is what u should try.
