Beautiful construction and situated close to one of the largest cities in the world. The pagoda is constructed in Burmese tradition. An interesting feature of the carvings and adornments lining the structures is the absence birds and animals mythical or real. The patterns are entirely floral. The inner dome of the meditation hall is said to be the largest free standing dome in the world with no supporting beams or pillars. The dome is made entirely from stone blocks held together by gravity and friction - no binding cement. Well worth the visit.
