One of the lesser known and yet very pretty beaches of Mumbai, this one is a must visit for anyone who likes to travel off the beaten track.

It is the perfect place to watch the sunset or to meet up with friends. The quintessential Mumbai street food is a must try here. In fact any Mumbai beach experience is incomplete without having a large portion of Bhel-puri. Interestingly, the place is also famous if you want to buy any fresh sea-food.

Tourists certainly swear by the tranquillity it provides but it is something to try out. If you want to explore Mumbai and are bored of the regular haunts try to find your stimulation in this place. Girgaun and Juhu are lovely places to be at but they tend to get really crowded. Gorai is a much lesser main stream beach and hence you will never find too much crowd here. Definitely add it to your itinerary while visiting Mumbai to have a real beach experience but Mumbai style!

  • Nice beach, especially during low tide as you get a lot of the beach area to explore. Nice place to get your kids along. Their are few place for snacks too, however, it's better to carry your snacks along if with a group. Gets terribly crowded on Sundays and the lane leading to the beach gets clogged with vehicles.

  • This is a beautiful and unique beach. During low tide, the beach turns to Gorai beach road and during high tide, it's all sea. So the road that Google map shows as 'Gorai beach Road' is actually the beach only and is accessible only during certain hours or the morning and afternoon, depending on the tides, isn't that crazy? The sea actually roars when it's coming up, you can hear the waves from the beach front hotel rooms. The beach is clean and during sunset it turns into a spectacular stretch of greyish sand and water which reflects the setting sun.

  • Place is good and i will request all visitor to feed dogs in the beach.. They are really malnourished.. Your one packet of biscuit can make a difference.. 😊

  • Nice place to visit but avoid on weekends as all the mumbaikar will be there on these days so you may find huge traffic and rush the Entry is little confusing so don’t just depends on google map but also ask the local people.

  • Quite beach near Mumbai. Beach is not that clean and water is also dirty. But with girlfriend and family you will get good chance to spend evening
