The Mahalakshmi Temple is a marvelous temple and tourist attraction in Mumbai situated near the Bhulabhai Desai Road. A Hindu merchant called, Dhakji Dadaji had built the temple in 1831 worshipping the goddess Mahalakshmi. The temple contains various images on its wall including the images of the three powerful deities - Mahalakshmi, Mahakali, and Mahasaraswati. It is a very important place for the Hindus living in Mumbai as well as in the surrounding villages.
They worship the goddesses here with lots of devotion. The temple has an ancient structure. You will also find several small shops selling flowers and other items for the diety on the road leading up to the temple. All three images of the goddesses are adorned in gold and jewels. The image of Mahalakshmi is shown riding a tiger and a demon called the Mahisashura following behind. The beautiful shrine is constructed in 1785 and many devotees visit the temple very. The deity and the altar are made of marble. During the festival of Navaratri, the temple becomes very busy with devotees flocking to it in huge numbers. The main doorway of the temple is adorned with several designs. The temple contains various handicrafts made by the locals who dedicate this to the temple. The vibrant colors of the temple and the exuberance of the devotees are sure to make a visit to the place memorable.

Is the way very steep? How many steps are there? How long will it take to climb the steps

Mahalaxmi Temple is well-kept and although the way is not very steep, there is a flight of steps to reach the temple. It will take a few minutes to reach. However, if you are coming with old people, it won't be a good idea to climb.
