  • Very pleasent and well maintained. Nice location for a quick break from busy work. Sports makes good entertainment too..

  • A nice large park to chill after work. But yeah surrounded by roads with traffic. It dangerous too, as a girl got murdered here recently. Although police roam around here for security reasons.

  • Was here for only a short time, but was very nice to see all the local people playing cricket. Very peaceful, but watch out for the balls, which are flying around... you might get hit :-)

  • The Oval Maidan is a large Grade I recreational ground situated in South Mumbai, India. It is so named because of its oval shape and is situated just south of Churchgate. It is a popular recreation ground, with the most popular sports played there being cricket and football. The ground measures 22 acres .Political rallies and religious functions are banned in the maidan.

  • Lungs of South Mumbai. Space for ever in between the concrete towers. Nestled between ancient buildings which enhance its beauty, the Oval maidan named after its shape is partly marred by metro work at the northern end At any given holiday, five cricket contests would be on whose boundaries would overlap. 3rd man onto the long on. Many more rubber-ball matches are on the periphery with make-do wickets from school slate boards, played by 'feet on street' urchins whose cries for a wicket drown all other noises in the area. Palm trees swaying to the breeze, make shift pavillion for the cricket teams, green carpeted grass ground, a feast for sore eyes. Oh... this is the real Mumbai!
