Powai Lake - Review

The Powai lake is a manmade wonder. The place is situated not too far from the IIT in Mumbai and is truly a bird watcher’s paradise. It may be a little far away from most other typical tourist attractions but is certainly worth the effort especially for nature lovers.

The different creatures seen here are spot-charged duck, little blue kingfisher, white-throated kingfisher, spotted bird, brahminy kite, purple-rumped sunbirds, white carmelized bulbuls, peregrine bird of prey, woolly-necked stork and numerous different types of creatures.  Watching the sunset here is sure to be a memorable experience. Powai Lake has over the years attracted lots of residential complexes around it. It is quite a big deal to be living around this area as it is considered to be one of the most paush areas of the city.

All in all if you want to experience a serene environment and like to gaze deep into the waters, but sea-faces are too crowded for you then Powai Lake is a great option to be at.

Powai Lake, Mumbai Reviews

  • A beautiful scenic view and pleasurable experience when you walk on new walking track. Certainly a place which you can not pass by while driving car without saying 'Wow, look at the lake and it's view'. Many people stop for a while before they start driving again. Lake is huge and surrounded by greenery with few tall buildings. It is a good reservoir of fish which is sold once every year. New walking track is laid and CCTVs cover almost all angles. Number of romancing couples has come down. Water is green colour and is contains flowing plastic. Boating has been stopped. The floating hotel has been turned off permanently due to some mishap. Need parking lot. Dog walkers should be asked to clean the excreta. Howkers number is increasing, should be checked in time.

  • Good place to chill After the promenade was renovated at the Powai lake, it has become a pleasurable experience to sit beside the lake. Many people even opt to jog here in the mornings. The lake is a much needed open space in the urbanized area of Powai. Like Marine drive, there is a certain calmness in just sitting next to the lake or the sea.

  • Nice and Clean place for Jogging. Most iconic place Couple who in Love. Beautiful View Covered of Full greenery.

  • Beautiful place to walk around. So windy and breezy. I'm really glad to see CCTV camera's around the lake's walking track since it's mostly so creepy to see so many couples sitting in there in aline under the trees shade. I usually don't get so creeped out by couples, but Powai lake's experience is a totally different one! The area is well maintained and there are 3-4 bus stands in line there. Easily accessible transport. There are some amazing restaurants and cafes opposite the lake, mainly in the hiranandani garden area.

  • Never venture going to this place with family & kids in the evenings. Filled with young couples. Should be a good place for morning walks but had never tried.
