  • Great place to enjoy tremendous nature and have a family get together and one day picnic point. Enjoy the best historic destination of Buddhist monk caves. Nice to spend your enjoyable moments in national park. Great to have photo sessions in national park. Nature. Calmness. Silent Jungle The best of all of this and right within a city. Ideal days to visit, Mon to Fri. Best to avoid Saturday and Sundays (especially ) and public holidays

  • Surprisingly in the middle of a sprawling urban jungle called Mumbai, this park is a natural retreat for the city dwellers. It has great variety of flora and fauna, different species of birds, animals ranging from deer, rabbits, snakes, leopard and insects. Allegedly there are tigers, lions too. I'm not very sure of that. It had Kanheri caves which are of religious significance to Buddhists. The park also has a toy train and provides decent forest trails for the adventure lovers.

  • Perfect place to visit in monsoons!! A one day trip in Mumbai. If going on weekends make sure you reach there early as the place gets too crowded and you won't be able to enjoy. A bike ride to the kanheri caves in monsoon is a must, avoid taking your car as it gets too crowded. Make sure you carry your own food and water. You can even go for the safari, but it costs extra. There are lions and tigers in there . Also a great place for photo shoots. A pocket friendly one day trip.

  • Took a hike too the temples which are carved into the rock. Was expecting a nice walk through the National Park, however we couldn't find any trails and had to walk along the road. Instead of a day getting away from Mumbai traffic, we were right in the midst of it. An extra 🌟 on offer if the park authorities make some paths, away from the cars, motorcycles and busses, for those that want to walk. That not withstanding the temples are amazing. There is an extra fee of 200 rupees to get access, but this is worth it. There are a number of carvings, directly into the mountain side, of various figures. Each one impressive to see. There is an additional bonus if the view back across the national park. After spending 2 weeks in Mumbai, it was pleasantly surprising to see so many trees. If you are here for more than a couple of days add to your itinerary and take the walk, though make sure you have enough water.
