Beer flows like water, sometimes more than water in Germany. This Royal brewery epitomizes the affinity that the people of Munich have towards all that is cold and frothy. Founded by the Duke of Bavaria, Wilhelm V in 1589, this brewery is owned and operated by the government of Bavaria.

Rich in history, this is one of the oldest beer halls in the city and is located at a stone throwaway from the residence of classical legend, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It is said that Mozart frequented this beer hall during his time and even wrote the famous opera Idomeno after visiting the hall on numerous occasions.

Today, this beer hall is a must visit for all tourists who want to sample some of the finest beers produced in Munich.

  • Very good beer and great German experience. I went to Munch very quickly but I had heard very well about this place so I decided to visit. The beer and the food were very tasty. I recommend the visit to the nice place. In complement, there is live music with regional music. I recommend.

  • It was a very pleasant memorable experience! Highly recommended it. The beers was one of the best I ever tasted! Go! You won't regret it. Even it was busy, they were pretty decent in level of service, which was a nice surprise.

  • Must see. Great music, good food, service good if somewhat tourist intolerant. Pick your table then move if you're treated unacceptably. Tip accordingly. I had a great experience and I was a solo. I shared a table with two nice local couples. Nice experience. Very memorable. So much history all around. Both good and bad, but hey, that's the human experience, right?

  • Best place to drink beer! The black beer is the best taste beer. Food is good! And I like the music!!! People play the traditional music with their instrument and that sounds good. Many people enjoy thatūüėÄ

  • Hofbr√§uhaus M√ľnchen is great. This sort of place is one of the reasons people go to Bavaria. We actually took a break from the Oktoberfest to come and have dinner here. Oktoberfest was really crazy and after a full day of that we needed to dial it down a notch. Hofbr√§uhaus M√ľnchen was perfect, festive but not crazy. We could easily get a table, the service was efficient and we were soon tucking into delicious traditional German food and burying our faces in steins of cold, fresh beer.
