Lakkam Waterfalls - Review
This is a must do adventure. Head out to Lakkam Waterfalls for the time of your life. Experience the exhilaration of getting up close and wet in the cascading waters. It’s a five minutes’ drive from the Munnar town and the waterfall is surrounded by Vaga trees. Vaga trees are widely found in Kerala and the forest is home to local birds and animals. The waterfall originates from the Eravikulam Plateau and pours down, creating a lot of mist. Hear the crashing water and enjoy the spectacular views. Listen to the thundering roar of gallons of water falling every second right before your eyes. Feel the mighty rush of the mist on your face. Soak up every moment of this amazing adventure. Indulge in nature's beauty and bounty at these pristine waterfalls, situated amidst Munnar hills.
The beautiful water falls forms puddles in crevices and you can take a bath here. Watch out for small rocks which can be slippery. Also you can walk across the puddle to the falls but wear water shoes because it can be dicey. The water is very clear so just sit and admire the greenery around. You can hire a guide and trek through the dense forest. When the Vaga trees are in full bloom the whole of Vagavurai valley is covered in bright red. The forest has unique blend of vegetation which is due to the valleys and mountainous topography. It is conserved and protected by the government. The forests are a safe haven for a large number of birds and animals and migratory birds as well.
Spend some quality time at the tea shop next to the waterfall. It is misty even in the afternoon so relax and take in the nice view. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Munnar Itinerary 3 Days.

A beautiful place to see nature at it's finest! Beautiful and nice and cool mist from the falls a favorite for kids and families. The walk down the hill close to the bottom of the waterfalls in a memorable one as you get very close to the water and it is a nice feeling to have the water splashing in the air. This waterfalls is a good waterfall in Munnar. This is a big waterfall offering good opportunity for photos. Major point of tourist attraction. Good time to visit is in monsoon time.
Clean & well maintained place!! Thank God there is lot of check to avoid people throwing bottles & wasted in the falls area. So safe to get into water & play. Serene & thoroughly enjoyable
The waterfall here is truly a sight to behold. Cascading and falling in a clear drop, with the water spraying all over the place. This is a heavenly place to visit for nature lovers. General entry fee is just Rs.20 and for trek lovers it is Rs.100 per head where you get a guide to take you up top. You can walk through the knee deep water to the base of the falls to take a dip if you wish. Towels are provided by forest officers on a charge basis. There is no dedicated parking and mostly cars are parked on roadside leading to the falls. The place is very well maintained and clean. A request to all for not littering this beautiful place.
A waterfall that is a sight to behold! A must visit if in Munnar. The sound of water gushing through the bed of rocks is always a very relaxing sound and this place is by far the best in terms of these acoustics! Perfect place to just sit , meditate and lose yourself amidst nature.
Lakkam falls is one such beautiful falls you can visit when you go Munnar through marayoor. The view is majestic and beautiful. They charged ₹20 as entry fee. Since the water flow is heavy they not allowed to take bath but only to view. Best place for photography lovers
