Visit this ancient church of Munnar which is also said to be the first Catholic church of this region. Settled on the rolling hills, this church has turned into one of the most important religious place for the people of Munnar. The history says that the church was established in the year 1898 by Father Alphonse of the Spanish Missionary. After the father’s death, his body was buried in this church. People say that the church is the prime witness in the modernization of Munnar from a simple tea plantation estate to an important tourist destination in the south.
