Spread across 25 kilometers on the northern side of Periyar River, this sanctuary is a perfect break from the wildlife exploration tour on the other side of the river. As you trek through the forest, you will come across some rare species of birds like Malabar Gray Hornbill, Crimson Throated Barber, large pied Wagtail and Peninsular Bay Owl. Apart from the birds, the sanctuary also let you encounter some animals and reptiles as well.
