Thommankuthu Falls, Munnar Reviews
A place inside forest with small water falls and river flowing through rocks. Enjoying the scenic beauty one can walk by the side of the river and beneath the shade of big trees. During summer as the water flow decreases one can easily and safely walk over the rocks and water, under the supervision of guides in uniform. It is a Govt property. Honey, black pepper, cardamom and various other produces from forest are available from Vanasree outlet at the main entrance. Very supportive staff.
Good place to spend with your family. If you have small kids choose summer time as water will not be that much. Can have walk through the forest area. Trekking is currently stopped. Guide will accompany you in trekking. Water falls will be in full strength during rainy season.
Nice place ! Forest area.... Waterfalls... Tree hut... Trucking... etc..etc Heavy protection and Full time guard security. A wonderful place to hangout with friends and family. Photography spot. Beautiful place. Peaceful atmosphere.
Nice place. Super climate. Bee safe in this place. Don't try to go near the waterfall
This seven step waterfall drops down a rock from a height of 1,500 meters. At each step, there is a cascade with a pool below it. we can also enjoy swimming in the the shallow pools below the falls. it takes about 1 hour to walk from the entrance to the waterfall. Major attractions at Thommankuthu are forest trekking and bathing in the waterfall. The 12 kilometer trek to the top of the mountain is wonderful. it reaches a waterfall deep inside the jungle. also there are several caves and view points near the waterfalls. the trek route is surrounded by giant trees. Common animals seen during the trekking are elephants, deer, butterfly, flying lizard etc
