Pallas-yllastunturi National Park is regarded as the third largest national parks in the country and it stretches up to area of about 1020 square kilometres. It is an ideal destination to view arctic landscapes. Fell chain covers almost 100 kilometres. Taivaskero, which is 807 metres high, is the highest fell here. Large part of this park comprises of different types of muskeg and primeval forests. Here hiking trails stretch about 350 kilometres. The park comprises of 14 trails and amongst them 8 is situated at Yllas area, 2 are at Ounastunturi fells area and 4 can be found at pallas area. Hetta-pallas trail is very popular hiking trail among tourists.
