Falling in the top places to visit at Mussoorie in the row of every Mussoorie tourist guide is the Gun Hill. The most famous attraction in Mussoorie, Gun Hill is the second highest peak of Mussoorie. Gun Hill offers an enchanting view of some of the highest Himalayan ranges namely Bunderpunch, Srikantha, Pithwara and Gangotri group. The point also offers a picturesque view of Mussoorie town and Doon Valley.
A steep winding path or a cable car from the Mall will lead you to Mussoorie’s second highest peak at 2530m – Gun Hill. The hill derives its name from the fact that in the days of the Raj a cannon was fired here to announce mid-day. Said to be an extinct volcano, Gun Hill offers a panoramic view of several surrounding peaks including Banderpoonch and Nag Tibba which result in excellent photographs especially at sunset.

Gun Hill, Mussoorie Reviews - Write a Review
Awesome way to reach there by ropeway Little market is there. You'll find food and games shop. Views are good.
Once on the top you will find just tiny kiosks selling Maggi and nothing else. Natural beauty is no more available. A Parvati Mata Temple on the top is just an added attraction other than 3 min cable cart ride
Mussoorie gets 5 star just bcoz of this place. Awesome rope way to reach this place. Reach there with family and kids. Kids can enjoy games meanwhile you can simple enjoy the view. Awesome experience.
All over the Mussoorie this is the place where we have been disappointed a lot. If you want to reach you are you will have to go to the mall road. Now if you have got a private vehicle then you may reach upto certain point from there you will have to use rope shifting. That will cost you 100 rupees for up and down for a single person. Higher if you have a commercial vehicle and have no vehicle then you will have to take a rickshaw up till the rope point view. You may go for the option of walkin also. But that is quite some distance to cover. At the top there are lots of shops for playing games Maggi Point and food points and nothing else that's it. The view is good but that kind of view is available all over Mussoorie. Also the quality of food in the shops are not good. Overall it's an overrated place you can avoid this place easily.
It's a place on the top of hill, from here you can see 80% of Mussoorie, By walk and ropeway one can reach here
