Paraga Beach - Review

The beach was popularised by the hippie culture and was one of the first clothing optional beaches on the island. It’s a favourite with the locals as well as the tourists. Some lovely shady trees can replace the sun beds and sun umbrellas in some areas. If you find the wind blowing too strong, there’s an area where a bamboo shield has been erected against the breeze. The waters are shallow and the beach is small, making it great place for kids. If you take a walk along the paths at the sides of the beach to the headlands, not only will you get some great views of the ocean, you’ll also be only a few minutes away by walking from some of the other really popular beaches on the island Paradise beach, Platys Gialos Beach, and the Agia Anna Beach.

Paraga Beach, Mykonos Reviews

  • We were very surprised and please with our stay at Paraga. Everything was reasonably priced despite other reviews saying things were outrageous. The convenience store had liquor for no or very small mark up. Good selection of food and drink, we enjoyed all of it. The Hostel was a great place to meet people and we had a great time in the water nearby. The only reason I don't give 4 stars is because the service and especially the security staff was abnoxious, we were playing some drinking games with other guests in the 'take away area' where they have huge tables and you can bring your market purchased goods. The security tried kicking out the 10 or so people we were with at 9:30 pm. No explanation or warning of any sort. No way to treat guests. One positive on the security however was that they removed a guy who was bothering women we we sitting with... General creep stuff.

  • I wasn't sure what to think before arriving, but this hostel definitely went above my expectations! The location is amazing, the restaurants and bars are so good and the food is delicious, but a little on the expensive side (like the whole island). The pool is also a great alternative to the beach. Showers and toilets are basic. We stayed in a 4 person tent and it was actually nice, but again basic. The music turns off at midnight so I was able to sleep quite well every night Staff always pleasant. A bus comes every hour to take you to Mykonos town, with the bus stop right in front of the hostel. Very good location! Would definitely revisit.

  • It is a budget hostel. For everything they asked money. We asked to do a bit of laundry - 10€. Sit by the pool - buy drinks. The mart in there was so overpriced. The room is more like a box which gets incredibly hot. There is only one fan( if it works) with one socket. There pool are is blasting 12h a day music out, it is so loud you can't even talk. The food in the restaurant was ok though and the staff was friendly. I think you need to make this place a bit better. Lower you prices a bit otherwise soon you won't have any one there.

  • Pretty expensive for what it is (basically camping) and then they are constantly coaxing more money out of you. Want to lie on a sunbed? Pay up. Have a drink at the hostel before going out? Better buy it from their shop and bar. However, the facilities themselves and the hostel beach are pretty nice, and anywhere on Mykonos it's probably gonna be expensive. Still, had better experiences in other places.

  • There isn't exactly a hostel but rather a camping. There aren't free services like others Hostel. The transfer from/to Port and Airport was the only thing free. Is a good place for young people, no for families or quite vacations. Is expensive like all in Mykonos but the pool, seats, beach and music were perfect to me!! I'd come back!
