Ocean Plaza Motel Reviews & Ratings

  • Me and my husband stayed in this hotel Sept 26-28. It was okay, basically you get what you pay for. The motel was ocean front, and one pool. I gave it 3 stars because it was a nice room, no mold, recently remodeled. However as a smoker I was shocked to find out we couldn't smoke on the property AT all, I can understand no smoking in the room but it got annoying to have to walk to the the beach to smoke. Overall it was a decent place for a cheap price

  • Very clean nice rooms with comfortable beds. If I had to complain about something, it would be that bathrooms near the indoor pool would have been nice. Instead you have to go back to your room. The office had a room available and allowed us to check in WAY earlier than check in time. That was a wonderful bonus.

  • I very generously gave this hotel one star. Why it has not been shut down is beyond me. If you like stranger’s pubic hairs and the scent of ocean air mingled with urine, you’re in luck!!!!

  • I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews. It's a budget hotel, so you get what you pay for. The outside isn't amazing, but our room (3 queen beds and kitchenette) was nice and clean. It looked like the rooms had recently been remodelled. The cleaning staff were very friendly and kept it really clean during our stay. We didn't realize until about 10 pm our first night that our fridge wasn't working. We told the office and in 10 minutes they had sent maintenance up with a brand new fridge (and I mean fresh out of the box new) and switched it out. While there were a lot of bugs outside, that's just all of Myrtle Beach, and we never once had a roach in our actual room. Also, it has beach front access and is walkable to a ton of restaraunts, Family Kingdom, and the pier. The elevator was a little rickety and scary, so we mostly took the stairs. I will say that if you're in a wheelchair, you may have some difficulty with accessibility. This is clearly an older building with accessibility added later, and the accessible entrances looked to be pretty tight fits for a wheelchair. Also, they need to fix the hose by the beach for washing your feet, because even when off it was still spraying water, which is not very eco-friendly.

  • not as bad as some of the reviews may say, outside and elevator are a little dingy .. rooms however seem updated great view no bugs .. atleast none we seen ! House keeping very pleasant front desk receptionist were all very nice .. overall a decent stay for the price outside parking and elevator were about the only negatives o and the pool was a little greenish other than that pretty good.
