Ocean Plaza Motel, Myrtle Beach Reviews - Write a Review

  • It was a rough start getting checked in but after that it was awesome. The staff was super super nice and the room was great. Love the way the room was laid out. Easy access to the beach and shops. Now it's not the high and mighty hotel but it was very nice. Will be back to stay there again. We had side view of the beach and was on the 7th floor it still was beautiful view.

  • We been here for almost 2 weeks for the price it's a great deal, rooms are clean and updated ,staff has been very friendly unlike some of the other reviews we would definitely recommend, the only reason I didn't give a 5 star review is for surethe indoor pool needs a little work and parking is very tight. I would say this isn't a hotel with all the amenities of the resorts around here, it is a dated building but for the price it's an amazing deal and with some off the other reviews people complained about there is an a""hole everywhere who is never satisfied we will be back for sure

  • You have to remember this is a 2 star motel - Two-star meets basic needs in cleanliness, is affordable and comfortable. Ocean Plaza does an excellent job at all of that. Yes there are certain amenities that were missing such as breakfast and larger space in the rooms, but again, this is only 2 star. Bump up to 3 star to get the extra amenities. We had 2 queen beds, a full size fridge, a stove, a microwave, a coffee pot and a decent sized bathroom. Also the motel just remodeled in June 2017 from the damage they had from Hurricane Matthew. So some of the complaints about the motel being dated might be for the original setup. It felt modern and up-to-date to me. The rooms were very clean. The beds were comfortable. Our ocean view was beautiful. All at a very affordable rate during the peak season.

  • Staff was friendly everyone who worked there always spoke to us. Our room was clean the pool area and parking area was clean and well kept. We would stay there again.

  • PLEASE READ! Hope someone reads this review!!! So like anyone we read reviews and decided "let's just try it." So we get to the hotel and they give us to keys to the room we go to the room are keys are so bent we could barely get in the door. The room itself was nice besides the ac! The ac had the room cool but the bed beside it was froze and got sick. I meant to take a picture but we got out of the shower and unraveled a towel to try off and found a lock of black hair..... I was livid. So I immediately took it took management and they said it could have been mine (I have blonde hair) I insisted it wasn't and how disgusting it was! We didn't get fresh sheets on our bed even though we had room service. How do we know you ask? We still had sand all in the sheets. The elevator literally looks like it is rotting from the bottom up, we never took it.. on the way to the pool it smelled like mildew since they thought it would be smart to put down carpet on your way to and from the pool.... overall not pleased
