The Market Commons is a stunning area with so much to explore and so much history on every street. Between the unique boutiques, impeccable restaurants, beautiful walk area and playgrounds, there's something there for everyone to see and do. And of course you can't forget the events throughout the year! My daughter and I have gone here for years, even before and after we lived in the immediate area, just to walk around, play, feed the ducks, see a movie, eat. You can do so much in a day and still have more stuff to do and see! This is definitely the place I recommend people to visit!
Pros: Plenty of parking, amazing restaurant variety, great for date night and also family friendly. Movie theater, Cold Stone, Barnes & Noble, French, Japanese, Chinese, Italian, Southern American, American Pub/Brewery & many other choices! Convenient location to airport and a variety of residential communities within a short walking distance. I'd live there if I worked near it! Cons: Needs to pull some of the retailers away from the miserable shopping areas at both Tanger Outlets (blah).
Always a wonderful place to both shop and eat. Restaurants are well staffed with good menus. Shops are very current. A lovely afternoon or evening.
I truly love it here. In my opinion, it's the most beautiful living-slash-shopping area on the Grand Strand. I'd live smack in the middle of it if I could. I hope they keep developing this area with an eye to quality, beauty and worth and not kill it with greed. I'm still hurt that Piggly Wiggly and a bunch of small shops got pushed out over aggressive rent charges. It leaves an unsightly and very noticeable hole in the community that I hope it rebounds from.
Beautiful shopping/dining center right next to a gorgeous lake, tons of walking/biking trails, and a great park for all ages. We ate at the King Street Grille, which was delicious and had great drinks, then walked around the lake after dark. Our favorite spot in the park was the "Harmony Park", where there are bells and things to play around with. Would be great for young kids, but we're 20+ and still had fun messing around.
